“My Master Is Delaying” — The Lie That Turns a Servant Evil.
Matthew 24 — two servants, one master. The faithful and wise servant feeds the household on time and is found “so doing” when the master comes. The evil servant says in his heart, “My master is delaying his coming,” then beats his fellow servants and eats and drinks with the drunkards. The master comes on a day he does not expect. Every one of Jesus’ stories has a delay — and the delay is the test.
Also covered: the bridegroom who delayed (Matthew 25:5), “after a long time” (Matthew 25:19), the faithful steward (Luke 12:42–48), the scoffers’ question (2 Peter 3:3–9), and “though it tarries, wait for it” (Habakkuk 2:3).
